Ivey Business School officially launches new MSc program
New graduate degree program focuses on international management skills
LONDON, ON, April 8 /CNW/ - A new Master of Science in Management (MSc) degree at the Richard Ivey School of Business has been given the green light, allowing the school to expand its international business offerings, which are critical in today's global business environment.
The Ivey MSc program has just been approved by the Ontario Council on Graduate Studies and Ivey has begun accepting qualified applicants for the first class in August. This is Ivey's first new degree program in almost 50 years and it answers the demand for business graduates skilled in international management.
Ivey is the exclusive Canadian partner in CEMS, a strategic alliance of 27 member schools from four continents and 59 corporate partners, and will offer the CEMS Masters in Management (MIM) as a component of the program. Members include London School of Economics, National University of Singapore, HEC Paris, ESADE (Spain) and Fundaçao Getulio Vargas, EAESP (Brazil). The CEMS Masters in Management is the top MIM program according to the Financial Times.
"We're excited to be offering a new degree that both educates on best practices and provides insight on how these practices affect international management. It answers the demand for graduates with international business skills," said Darren Meister, Faculty Director of Ivey's MSc Program. "The international business knowledge and practical international experience our students gain will prepare them for a changing business landscape that transcends borders."
Mohamed Punjani, an undergraduate business student at Ivey who has been accepted into the MSc program, said the international experience component is a big draw.
"Having international experience is becoming more and more necessary for tomorrow's business leaders. The international component will expand my appreciation for business processes worldwide and will differentiate me as a candidate with future employers," he said. "The access to alumni through Ivey's CEMS partners offers a truly remarkable opportunity to engage with international business leaders."
Ivey's MSc program is open to students from various backgrounds with two years or less of full-time work experience. It is geared to students with an interest in international management and will prepare them for roles as analysts, consultants and specialists in addition to providing a base for Doctoral studies.
