Ontario Ombudsman André Marin to speak April 22 on Lack of Strong Oversight of Police in Ontario
OTTAWA, April 17, 2012 /CNW/ - Ontario Ombudsman André Marin will be the feature speaker at a public event to be held April 22. He will present his Office's latest findings on the province's Special Investigations Unit (SIU) and how the government has failed to adequately support it in providing strong oversight of police in Ontario.

Co-moderators for this event are Ms. Karen Reid and Mr. Jean Richer, each a senior member of the Ottawa criminal defence bar.
The event, sponsored by the Civil Liberties Association-National Capital Region, will be held Sunday, April 22nd, 2012 at the Main Branch Auditorium of the Ottawa Public Library, corner of Laurier Ave. and Metcalfe St., from 2:00-4:00 p.m. There is no charge for this event.
