MISSISSAUGA, ON, April 24, 2012 /CNW/ - Health & Safety Ontario invites you to Partners in Prevention 2012 Health & Safety Conference & Trade Show - Canada's largest health and safety event - taking place May 1 - 2, 2012 at the Mississauga International Centre (6900 Airport Road).
Partners in Prevention 2012 will welcome more than 4,500 health and safety professionals for two-days of learning, sharing and networking in aim of preventing workplace injuries, illness and fatalities. Offering more than 60 interactive sessions, workshops and professional development courses, Partners in Prevention 2012 provides unlimited access to current information on health and safety best practices, compliance advice and business solutions transcending Ontario's top workplace hazards in all industry sectors.
The conference will feature keynote speakers John Furlong, CEO Vancouver 2010 Olympics Organizing Committee (May 1, 8:00 am), Tod Maffin, Digital Technology & Marketing Guru (May 2, 8:00 am) and Michael Kerr, Motivational Speaker, Business Trainer and Humour in the Workplace Expert (May 2, 12:15 pm).
Back by popular demand, the special half-day session entitled View from the Top - Provocative Conversations with Today's Leaders will run on May 1 (10:00 am - 12:00 pm). Moderated by Amanda Lang, Senior Business Correspondent, CBC News, a panel of top executives recognized for their organizations' commitment to health and safety will speak candidly about their investment in health and safety and their resulting achievements of sustainability and profitability. This panel will include:

Partners in Prevention 2012 is once again co-locating with CANECT - the Canadian Environmental Conference & Trade Show - offering attendees two trade shows and 400 exhibitors under one roof. Here attendees can investigate the latest products and services and participate in a number of interactive trade show presentations and booths, including:
- "ToolGirl" Mag Ruffman, home improvement writer and television star, will speak about tool safety at work and at home while sharing the latest tips, tools and equipment (May 1, 11am - 11:45; May 2, 10:30am - 11:15am).
- Ford of Canada will be onsite to display the safety features of their award winning vehicles - in person and using virtual reality technology.
- Live demonstrations on lift truck ergonomics teaching the latest lift truck engineering advances, ergonomic prevention and wellness exercises (May 1, 10 am, 2 pm, and 3:30 pm; May 2, 9:30 am and 11 am).
- Interactive seminars led by healthcare and wellness professionals on topics ranging from mental health, stress, aging and corporate weight loss programs at the Healthy Living Centre. Also, free personalized advice will be available through various health screenings, such as blood pressure, cholesterol and stress testing, nutrition and fitness.
- Health and safety representatives from the Ontario prevention system will be at the Health and Safety Ontario booth (#525) to discuss specific health and safety interests and concerns.
