Former Suncor Energy CEO to present at Milken Institute 2013 Global Conference in Los Angeles
Rick George discusses the end of energy scarcity and its impact on the North American energy industry
CALGARY, April 24, 2013 /CNW/ - On April 30, 2013, Rick George, former President and Chief Executive Officer of Suncor Energy and author of Sun Rise: Suncor, The Oil Sands and The Future of Energy, will join a panel of experts to discuss the trajectory for the energy industry, how it will effect global economic power and the implications of energy abundance.
During the annual Milken Institute 2013 Conference, Rick George will join an impressive panel of speakers including T. Boone Pickens, Founder, BP Capital; Jay Pryor, Vice President, Business Development, Chevron; Joshua Harris, Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer, Apollo Global Management; and R. James Woolsey Venture Partner, Lux Capital. Moderated by CNBC Anchor Brian Sullivan, the panel will examine the repercussions of energy abundance and its impact on the world economy.
Mr. George will share knowledge and insight he gained from twenty years at the helm of Suncor Energy, where he oversaw the successful transformation of a small privately held oil sands company with a valuation of $1 billion, to Canada's largest integrated energy company with a public valuation of over $50 billion. He will also address the importance of the energy industry on the security and economic development of North America.
