Antiquarian Book Fair Attracts International Dealers to Toronto

TORONTO, Aug. 4 /CNW/ - Fine books were first printed in Europe in the 15th century. Six centuries later, some of these works will be offered for sale for the first time ever in a Canadian venue. The Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of Canada is excited to announce the 2010 Toronto International Antiquarian Book Fair. Fifty dealers from across Europe and the USA will join Canada's foremost dealers in antiquarian books to present a 3 day sale of rare and important books.

Taking place October 29 to 31, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, it is the first international antiquarian book fair to happen in Canada in over 15 years.

First rate quality is assured, since all book dealers at the fair are members of national antiquarian booksellers' associations, and of the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers. Such memberships require dealers to adhere to professional codes of ethics and business practices.

In Toronto, these dealers will offer books on a wide range of interests. Specialties include travel, exploration, early science, medicine, literature, natural history, Canadiana, sports and games, Orientalia, military, Arctic regions, Judaica, crime fiction and art. In addition dealers will have for sale childrens' books, modern first editions, atlases, maps, prints and drawings, photography and fine illustrated books. Visitors will find items ranging from medieval times to the 20th century.

This will be a rich and rare opportunity for everyone interested in books and related material to see, experience and purchase rare books, maps, prints, illustrations and more from some of the world's foremost booksellers.
