WIND Mobile tops 100,000 customers in its first two quarters
First national wireless provider in over a decade is clear alternative for Canadians
TORONTO, Aug. 12 /CNW/ - As WIND Mobile continues to champion wireless choice and competition in Canada, consumers are taking control of their mobile experience by choosing WIND. With daily expansion of its offering and subscriber base, WIND Mobile announced today that it exceeded 100,000 subscriptions in early July 2010.
"We're thrilled to have welcomed over 100,000 customers in our first two quarters," said Anthony Lacavera, Chairman of Globalive and WIND Mobile. "We will continue to rally for increased wireless choice in Canada. We will continue to expand and grow, and we welcome competition as part of our commitment to offering Canadians the kind of mobile experience they want and deserve."
Since launching in December 2009 as the first national wireless provider in over a decade, WIND Mobile's presence in the market has changed the landscape of wireless in Canada. WIND continues to champion change in wireless and challenge industry practices that are unfair to Canadian consumers.
WIND continues to build on its all-IP 3G network offering state of the art voice, text and high speed data plans, as well as offering consumers greater simplicity and control. WIND has launched its services in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Ottawa and Vancouver with over 200 retail locations nationally.
"We continue to expand Canada's newest and most advanced wireless network," said Ken Campbell, CEO of WIND Mobile. "We're seeing strong customer growth. Results show that Canadians are welcoming competitive choice and the great value WIND is bringing to the marketplace. We will continue to encourage this growth by extending our offer of $150 credit to customers who bring their phone numbers to WIND by September 15."
WIND has upheld its promise to collaborate with customers by continuing to respond to their input and ideas. "We were inspired by the power of conversation, and we'll continue to listen while welcoming more and more customers to the WIND Mobile experience," said Lacavera.
