Media Advisory - Press Conference on cuts to defence workers and the impact on the community of Petawawa and Pembroke
PETAWAWA, ON, Aug. 10, 2012 /CNW/ - The Union of National Defence Employees (UNDE), which represents approximately 20,000 public and private sector workers at Department of National Defence establishments across Canada, is hosting a press conference in Petawawa on Monday, August 13th, at noon. The event is an opportunity for the public to learn about significant cuts to civilian defence workers at CFB Petawawa and the impact on the communities of Pembroke and Petawawa. Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) Regional Vice-President Ontario, Sharon DeSousa, will be joining Mary Chamberlain, UNDE Executive Vice President, and Arlene Preston, UNDE Vice President Ontario. The officials will brief the media on their ongoing advertising campaign in the area and issue a challenge to the Member of Parliament for Renfrew—Nipissing—Pembroke.
