Event Description: | Mrs. Laureen Harper, The Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario, Microsoft Canada, The Children's Miracle Network are hosting an interactive event with patients and families to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the CLICK (Children Life Interactive Computers for Kids) program. | |
Initiated by Microsoft Canada and the Children's Miracle Network, the CLICK program aims to create a sense of normalcy for children who experience lengthy hospitalizations. The program does this by encouraging play and by providing access to technology, such as a wireless network, Tablet PC's, software, webcams, digital cameras, printers and Xbox consoles. | ||
With this event, Microsoft will begin rolling out the donation of its latest gaming technology, Kinect, to children's hospitals across Canada, starting with CHEO. | ||
On hand will be: | ||
- Mrs. Laureen Harper - to recognize the success of the CLICK program at CHEO | ||
- Maureen Jones, Child Life Specialist, CHEO to discuss the power of play in the treatment of children and the achievements of the CLICK program over the past five years |

- Gavin Thompson, Director of Citizenship, Microsoft Canada to discuss Microsoft Canada's commitment to children's hospitals |

- John Hartman, Children's Miracle Network to discuss the Children's Miracle Network's role in the CLICK program |

- Patients and parents who are part of the CLICK program | ||
