Ethics and sustainable development at the Jeux du Commerce 2011 TD Assurance
Meloche Monnex
MONTREAL, Dec. 6 /CNW Telbec/ - At a time when ethical questions are making news and sustainable development must be integrated into corporate operations, the participants in the 23rd edition of the Jeux du Commerce TD Assurance Meloche Monnex will have to integrate these two aspects into their performance during this year's competition.
"It`s good news that our future financiers and managers must take ethics and sustainable development into account in the competitions," pointed out the event's Honorary President, Henry Blumenthal, Vice-President and Chief Underwriter, TD Insurance. "With a significant portion of the workforce retiring in the next few years, the arrival of a new generation, trained in these precepts, will certainly be beneficial for the business community, and for society as a whole," Mr. Blumenthal continued.
Analyzing and resolving and business cases, debates between the government and the opposition, stock simulations that consist of buying and selling shares while reacting to the market, sports competitions, debates: the Jeux du Commerce TD Assurance Meloche Monnex promise to be rich in novelty. "With their components − academic, sports and social − the Jeux du Commerce effectively prepare future managers to deal with the challenges that will confront them in the near future," pointed out Liane Brière, President of the Organizing Committee of the Jeux du Commerce 2011 TD Assurance Meloche Monnex.
For the fifth year in a row, TD Insurance Meloche Monnex is the official partner of this interuniversity competition. The event will be held from January 7 to 11, 2011 at the University of Ottawa's Telfer School of Management. "The contribution of a partner like TD Insurance Meloche Monnex is very important, because this allows us to fund a large part of the Games. In addition, TD Insurance Meloche Monnex is recognized for its responsible business practices, which are in line with our competition's philosophy," said Brière.
