SNC-LAVALIN AWARDED DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION, OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE CONTRACT
FOR WORKFORCE LODGE IN FORT MCMURRAY, ALBERTA
MONTREAL, Dec. 8, 2010 /CNW Telbec/ - SNC-Lavalin is pleased to announce that it has been awarded a contract to design, build, operate and maintain a workforce lodge for oil sands workers in Fort McMurray, Alberta.
This unique workforce lodge will provide accommodation and recreational facilities for 2,500 workers during the construction phase of a major oil sands project. The contract also includes the turnkey provision of site preparation, pilings, water and waste water treatment facilities and backup power generation, as well as the provision of catering and support services at the lodge over the construction period. Onsite construction is currently underway.
