Sino-Forest's Chairman & CEO Receives "2009 China Forestry Persons of the
Year" Award
TORONTO, Feb. 23, 2010 /CNW/ - Allen Chan, Chairman & CEO of Sino-Forest Corporation (TSX:TRE), a leading commercial forest plantation operator in China, was presented a "2009 China Forestry Persons of the Year" Award by the China National Forestry Industry Association and the China National Forest Products Industry Association in January, 2010.
The China National Forestry Industry Association is chaired by Mr. Jia Zhibang, Director of the State Forestry Administration. The award was presented to 31 foresters, academics and industry professionals who contributed to the prosperity and development of the forestry sector in China.
Mr. Chan commented on receiving the award, "Personally, and on behalf of Sino-Forest, I am very honored to receive this award, which signifies that our strategic initiatives are in line with the policies of the Central Government, and that we are making a significant contribution to the forestry industry. We will continue to work with government entities in efforts to improve the productivity of Chinese plantations and increase China's forest coverage and wood supply independence."
