TORONTO, Feb. 3, 2013 /CNW/ - The Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit (CFSEU) has made several arrests and dismantled a multi-million-dollar illegal gaming enterprise following the execution of a search warrant in the City of Markham on Sunday, February 3, 2013.
The lengthy, joint-forces investigation revealed the illegal gaming enterprise was allegedly run by organized crime groups. The warrant was executed at an invitation-only annual gambling event held on Super Bowl Sunday.
A press conference will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the York Regional Police Central Services Building, located at 47 Don Hillock Drive in the Town of Aurora. RCMP Acting Superintendent Keith Finn, officer in charge of the CFSEU, and York Regional Police Superintendent Paul Pedersen, the officer in charge of Investigative Services, will be providing further details on the investigation and arrests.
