Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation to commit over $100,000 to Haitian relief
effort

TORONTO , Jan. 15 /CNW/ - Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation announced today that it will provide over $100,000 to the relief efforts in Haiti through a combined donation of product and financial support.

"On behalf of all of our employees, our Associate-owners and their store teams, I want to extend our sympathy and support to those affected by the earthquake in Haiti ," said Jurgen Schreiber, President & Chief Executive Officer, Shoppers Drug Mart Corporation. "We hope that this donation can provide some comfort to those in need."

Shoppers Drug Mart and Pharmaprix have assembled $100,000 worth of product including water, first aid and personal care items, which will be sent to Haiti . The shipment will be received and distributed by Yéle Haiti , a charitable grassroots organization based in Haiti that provides community service programs including food distribution and the mobilization of emergency relief.

In addition to this corporate donation, Shoppers Drug Mart customers can join our efforts and donate their Shoppers Optimum points directly to the Yéle Haiti Earthquake Alliance by visiting www.shoppersdrugmart.ca. These Optimum points will be redeemed by the Yéle Haiti Earthquake Alliance for items required in their relief efforts.
