OPC representatives will meet the press to present this first Direct Democracy Canadian federal political party. Michael Nicula, Party Leader, will answer questions regarding our platform, governing principles, accountability act, website functionality, and vote counting. We will also present the 'Agora' project: posting Parliamentary Bills daily on the website so the users can comment and vote directly, then use a link to tell their actual MP about it.
We believe that this level of direct connectivity between voters and their MPs is unprecedented in Canadian politics. |
OPC's mission is to create a viable alternative to the traditional political system. We believe voters should vote on individual issues instead of 'packaged' platforms, true leaders instead of 'voting machine' politicians, and policies instead of parties.
The MPs should be compelled to represent the will of the voters, instead of taking direction from their party caucuses or lobby groups.
Our 'Accountability Act' may be the first and only attempt in Canada's political history, to provide voters timely recourse in case their MPs fail to represent their will. |
Open to media and public representatives. Space is limited - RSVP.
