Ontario welcomes the 5th edition of Festival FKZO
TORONTO, July 4, 2013 /CNW/ - Festival Kompa Zouk Ontario-FKZO is happy to celebrate its 5th year. This year's activities will take place from July 25th to August 4th at various locations including Toronto's Harbourfront Centre. FKZO Week will kick off on Thursday, July 25th, at the Radisson Admiral Hotel.
This year, the organizers offer a special program including:
* Art Exhibit featuring Haiti, from July 25th to August 4th
* Workshops on two of the hottest dances, i.e. Kizomba and Kizompa, on July 26th and 27th
* Bilingual Job Fair focused on the arts and culture industry, on August 2nd
* Kick-off party with Carimi and Karizma at Daniels Spectrum on August 3rd
The week will culminate with a Festival Day on August 4th where a variety of activities will take place, including live music, workshops for children, a soccer tournament supported by the Office of Francophone Affairs and a demonstration of Creole cuisine. Accessible seating will be available for this event.
FKZO 2013 is an opportunity to discover the wonders of Haiti - its culture, its people and all that the country has to offer. The organizers would like to especially thank the sponsors and all the partners that contributed to the development of FKZO over the years, notably RDÉE/Ontario and the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
Ahead of this exciting program, FKZO and Afrique Nouvelle Musique are working together to present a performance of the legendary group Kassav, their only show in Toronto, which will take place on July 11th at Phoenix Concert Theatre, 410 Sherbourne Street.
