Media Advisory - Friends of the Ontario Ranger Program to present resolution to Huntsville council July 22
HUNTSVILLE, ON, July 19, 2013 /CNW/ - A delegation representing the Friends of the Ontario Rangers will appear before Huntsville town council on July 22 where they will ask members to support their campaign to have the former youth program restored in the 2014 provincial budget. The former Ontario Ranger Program was cancelled by the previous government of Dalton McGuinty in September, 2012.
Council will debate a resolution put forward by the group that urges municipalities to contact Premier Kathleen Wynn and Minister of Natural Resources, David Orazietti, and have them bring back the former 70-year program.
Huntsville resident Karen Chapeski, who was a Ranger at Esker Lake in the 1980s and whose daughter was a Ranger last year, will speak on behalf of the Friends group, along with Martin Dubuc, himself a former Ranger.
