Media Advisory - Was the Economic Action Plan effective at lessening the recession?
CALGARY, July 23, 2013 /CNW/ - When the 2008 global recession hit Canada and unemployment rates began to rise, the federal government was quick to implement its "Economic Action Plan" to help boost job numbers. But were these efforts effective, and should this type of recession-fighting stimulus be used in the future?
In an upcoming webinar, Professor Ron Kneebone will release a report that evaluates policy options for fighting recessions in Canada and cast judgment on the well-publicized Economic Action Plan.
Kneebone will deliver a short presentation with audio and visuals, then field any questions from the media.
Media can register for the webinar at the link below. Once registered, you can expect an email with directions for joining the session.
