Media Advisory - Are doctors to blame for crumbling health-care system?
CALGARY, July 26, 2013 /CNW/ - Canada's health-care system is financially unsustainable. This argument has been well-documented. And yet, doctors' earnings continue to rise. With the system under such strain, how is it that physicians are still walking away with more and more each year?
At an upcoming media conference, Professor Hugh Grant will release a report that reveals just how much doctors' incomes have risen over the last 50 years and how these incomes compare to those of other Canadian workers. He will also assess whether more money for doctors has meant more or better quality health services. Finally, he will offer recommendations on how government and doctors can work together to control these mounting costs.
