Are You The Next LOTTO MAX Millionaire? $95 Million LOTTO MAX Prize Amount
Largest In Canadian History
TORONTO, June 17 /CNW/ - When Canadians were asked about what they wanted from a lottery game, they said they wanted bigger jackpots and lots of chances to win big prizes. This week, they are getting what they asked for. The total prize amount for the LOTTO MAX draw this Friday, June 18 is $95 million, the largest in Canadian history with a $50 million jackpot and an unprecedented forty-five $1 million MAXMILLIONS prizes up for grabs.
"LOTTO MAX is a unique game that doesn't exist anywhere else in the world. When Maxmillions are available, each $5 LOTTO MAX ticket gives you a chance at the big jackpot as well as a chance at the extra MAXMILLIONS, and this week there are 45 of them, so lots of opportunities for Canadians to win!" said Wendy Montgomery, VP of Lottery Marketing at Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.
MAXMILLIONS are additional $1 million prizes added to the game when the jackpot reaches $50 million. MAXMILLIONS prizes are drawn separately from the LOTTO MAX jackpot draw, which means that a LOTTO MAX ticket not only gives players a chance at $50 million but also the chance to win any of the $1 million MAXMILLIONS draws on the same date.
Although there were no winners nationally of the $50 million jackpot in last week's draw, there were ten winning MAXMILLIONS tickets from communities across Ontario.
Thousands of other LOTTO MAX prizes were also won, including a winning ticket for second prize in Ontario.
Since LOTTO MAX launched in September 2009, over $506 million in prizes have been awarded, including $147 million to Ontario lottery players.
The largest LOTTO MAX win in Ontario was in December 2009. That jackpot for $25 million was split between two winning tickets from Burlington and Sault Ste. Marie. There have been twenty-three MAXMILLIONS winners in total, including twelve from Ontario.
Players can purchase tickets at authorized OLG retailers until 9 p.m. Friday, June 18 for the draw that evening.
Due to the additional volume of the estimated 45 MAXMILLIONS prizes, it will take extra time to conduct the evening's draws, which may result in delays in the publishing of winning numbers and ticket validations at your retailer on Saturday morning. Unofficial winning numbers will be published as quickly as possible on Saturday. Unofficial winning numbers can be found at OLG.ca or by calling the OLG Win! Line at 1-866-891-8946.
OLG is a provincial agency responsible for province-wide lottery games and gaming facilities. Since 1975, OLG lotteries, casinos, slots, and resort casinos have generated more than $32 billion for the benefit of the Province of Ontario.
