The 2012 Blue Jays Honda Super Camps to begin in Edmonton
TORONTO, June 28, 2012 /CNW/ - The ultimate baseball experience begins on Monday, July 2 for approximately 150 participants at Telus Field in Edmonton, Alberta. Kids aged 10-16 will be learning and improving their skills and techniques from former Toronto Blue Jays alumni such as Homer Bush, Lloyd Moseby, Rance Mulliniks & Duane Ward. Roberto Alomar's father, Sandy Alomar Sr. will also be an instructor at this camp. The clinic will run from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm and each participant will receive a Blue Jays hat, t-shirt, instructional manual; photo card, along with a leather pro model Roberto Alomar Series baseball glove.
In conjunction with Honda, Baseball Canada and Little League Canada, the Blue Jays will be conducting 14 Honda Super Camps this summer across 10 provinces in July and August as they continue their commitment to amateur baseball. At each Super Camp, the Toronto Blue Jays, through Jays Care Foundation are providing five scholarships for entry fees to help remove financial barriers to participation for children who would not otherwise have the chance to play. In addition, through a partnership with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Canada, Jays Care Foundation had made a grant and a donation of equipment available to start a baseball skills development program with the local BGC in each city.
