VANCOUVER, June 3, 2013 /CNW/ - Vancouver Foundation will announce a major new community outreach initiative and funding program on Tuesday, June 4, in response to His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada's call for Canadians to build a more "smart and caring" nation leading up to Canada's 150th birthday in 2017.

The June 4 event will feature presentations by:

  • His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada
  • Ian Bird, President and Chief Executive Officer, Community Foundations of Canada
  • Gordon MacDougall, Chair, Vancouver Foundation
  • Faye Wightman, President and CEO, Vancouver Foundation
  • Andrea Reimer, Councillor, City of Vancouver

Time:  Media Registration - 9:00 a.m.  -  9:15 a.m.
The Governor General arrives at 9:30 a.m.
