MONTREAL, June 5, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - On June 19th, 2013, Bentley Montreal/Décarie Motors will present the Premiere of the 2014 Flying Spur, the fastest, most powerful four-door Bentley ever built. It has been hailed at previous Motor Shows in Geneva and New York as a formidable achievement of British automotive design, thanks to its unprecedented combination of high luxury refinement and unrivaled performance.
For this occasion, L'Arsenal, one of Montreal's largest event venues, will be transformed into The Temple of the Flying Spur, an epic soirée designed by Manina Productions and hosted by Quebec television personality, Geneviève Borne. Mr. Christophe Georges, President and COO of Bentley Motors Inc., will make an appearance to share with media, Bentley drivers, and VIP guests the most innovative features of the Flying Spur. Acclaimed music duo, Elsiane, will perform songs from their repertoire of intriguing electronica. Photo opportunities and surprising gourmet treats will abound. Event partners will include Air Canada, BMO Harris Private Bank and Kelson Financial.
The 2014 Flying Spur commands immediate attention with its athletic design, which combines traditional Bentley styling cues with a sporting stance and re-imagined details. Sharp lines accentuate its muscular rear haunches, while LED daytime running lights, dipped headlights, and taillights create an unmistakable signature for the front and rear profiles. Bentley's interior designers have delivered a luxurious, spacious cabin, in which advanced acoustics and cutting-edge technology are seamlessly integrated with exquisite hand-crafted leather hides and wood veneers.
Driver and passengers alike can interface with the car and the outside world through touch-screen infotainment and mobile connectivity, including Wi-Fi, a Rear Seat Entertainment suite, and a new hand-held Touch Screen Remote which allows rear cabin occupants to control an extensive range of features. An eight-channel, eight-speaker audio system with Balanced Mode Radiators provides flawless sound clarity, with a 1100W Naim® system available as an option.
Powering the new Flying Spur is Bentley's renowned 6.0-litre, twin turbo W12 engine, coupled to a ZF eight-speed transmission, capable of propelling the automobile to a breath-taking 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds (0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds), with a top-speed of 322 km/h (200 mph).
"Bentley's new Flying Spur is the ultimate luxury performance sedan," stated Dr. Wolfgang Schreiber, Bentley Chairman and Chief Executive. "Our engineers have worked tirelessly to ensure that the Flying Spur is the perfect combination of power, comfort, refinement and hand-crafted quality. Fitted with the very latest technology, the new Flying Spur is equipped both for business and relaxation whilst remaining a car to enjoy from behind the wheel."
Funds collected during the event's innovative raffle will be donated to the Miriam Foundation, an organization that helps people with autism and developmental disabilities lead fulfilling lives. They believe that every person deserves quality professional services, family support, social connections and the opportunity to realize his or her unique potential.
