UNICEF Canada's CEO and Ambassador available in Halifax for media interviews
Celebrating 20th Anniversary of the city's premier charity event
HALIFAX, March 26, 2012 /CNW/ - UNICEF Canada's CEO David Morley will be in Halifax celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the Water for Life - Chefs for UNICEF gala and is available to speak to media.
David Morley recently returned from Tanzania and can provide commentary on barriers vulnerable children face accessing improved drinking water and adequate sanitation around the world, the impact Canadian donor dollars have reaching these children and steps to achieve universal access to clean water sources.
UNICEF and the World Health Organization recently reported the Millennium Development Goal on water has been met - with 89 per cent of the world's population using improved drinking water sources. Although an important milestone, there are still 780 million people without access. Learn more.
The goal of this year's Halifax event is to raise $165,000. This year's gala marks the 20th Anniversary of Atlantic Canadians supporting UNICEF's work saving children's lives and securing their rights in virtually every country in the world.
