Kingsway Announces Pennsylvania Appeal of Commonwealth Court Ruling

TORONTO, May 3 /CNW/ - (TSX: KFS, NYSE: KFS) Kingsway Financial Services Inc. ("Kingsway" or the "Company") today announced that it has been informed that on April 30, 2010, the Pennsylvania Insurance Department filed a notice of appeal to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court relating to the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania's decision to dismiss all claims against Kingsway and Kingsway America Inc. challenging the disposition of Lincoln General Insurance Company ("Lincoln"). The Commonwealth Court had previously confirmed that the disposition of Lincoln did not violate Pennsylvania insurance laws and did not require Department approval. The Company will oppose the appeal.
