Media Advisory - Military Police Mascot Visits Afghanistan to Launch National
Motorcycle Ride
TORONTO, May 21 /CNW/ - Media are invited to attend the official start of the 2010 Military Police National Motorcycle Relay Ride, on May 24 at 6 p.m. at Canadian Forces Base (8 Wing) Trenton.
Corporal STONE, the official mascot of the Canadian Forces Military Police will depart the Embarkation Centre at 8 Wing Trenton to fly to Kandahar Afghanistan to visit the troops. He will be seen off by Mark Farrer, the chairman for the Military Police National Motorcycle Relay Ride and by Wayne Johnston, the president of Wounded Warriors.ca.
This is the second year for the MP National Relay Ride and Wounded Warriors.ca has been selected as the co-beneficiary to the Military Police Blind Fund.
Cpl Stone will return to Canada mid July and then he is off to Comox, British Columbia, for the start of the Relay Ride on August 17. The ride across Canada will raise funds and the riders will be back in Trenton, Ontario on 29 August noon for a B-B-Q. The ride ends in St. John's, Newfoundland on September 10.
