Redline Brings a Wireless Information Superhighway to Rural Ontario
-- Company to provide wireless radio access network to Oxford County residents --
TORONTO, May 21 /CNW/ - Redline Communications Group Inc. ("Redline") (TSX: RDL), a leading provider of WiMAX and broadband wireless infrastructure (BWI) products, today announced that Execulink Telecom, a Canadian Service Provider, has selected Redline for the wireless portion of Execulink Telecom's network, which will offer high speed internet service to more than 100,000 of Oxford County's rural and suburban residents.
The contract includes the deployment of Redline's RedMAX Base Stations which will provide last mile connectivity to the project. With Redline's RedMAX, Execulink will be able to deliver affordable high speed internet access to even the most remote residents, ensuring that all citizens can enjoy the most advanced internet services.
Providing ubiquitous access across all of Oxford County, an area that exceeds 2000 square kilometers, is the result of the work of the Rural Oxford Connections project, which was created in August 2009 to help fulfill the Ontario government's desire to have broadband services offered to all corners of the province.
"Execulink and Redline were chosen for this project after an extensive evaluation and public bid where many different solutions were considered," stated Jonathan E. Scott, Chief Financial Officer & Vice President of Operations at Execulink Telecom. "Redline was the clear choice for a radio partner, because of their products' coverage, capacity, speed of deployment, and fast return-on-investment; all of which will result in delivering the best service for the people of Oxford County."
"Redline is very pleased to be part of a project that will bring high speed access to more citizens. We want to see Canada with the deepest penetration of affordable broadband access, and projects like this one demonstrate that it can be done" says Eric Melka, Acting CEO, Redline Communications, Inc. "Our RedMAX line of access radios has reached a level of maturity that allows them to be deployed quickly and economically regardless of geography - which translates into more access more quickly."
