The Ninth Edition of SIAL Canada in Montreal - The Salon International de l'Alimentation opens its doors today at the Palais des congrès!

SIAL Canada has already confirmed the arrival of 676 exhibitors from 45 countries and projects that it will welcome 13,000 visiting professionals from 60 countries. Having recently added 10,000 square feet to the exhibition, bringing the total area to 175,000 square feet, an increase that constitutes a growth of 21%, which is a growth index never before seen between any two editions of the show in Montreal, SIAL Canada 2012 has definitely established itself as a must in the North American food industry!

TRENDS & INNOVATIONS — This contest rewards the best in international food innovation for the year and reveals the latest global consumption trends. Products are pre-selected by an independent jury and chosen by a jury of experts chaired by XTC World Innovation, and will benefit from broad international visibility.

OLIVE D'OR — This contest, the most important international extra-virgin olive oil contest in North America, has been validated by the profession and seeks to promote quality in participating oils.

COFFEE CUP by SIAL - The COFFEE CUP by SIAL is a competition rewarding quality coffees. The jury, made up of coffee experts and food professionals, is chaired by Sevan Istanboulian, a member of the Specialty Coffee Association of America.

LA CUISINE by SIAL - New Format - LA CUISINE by SIAL features a contest of corporate chefs, in thrilling battles. These "Iron Chef" battles will be interspersed with culinary demonstrations led by LA CUISINE by SIAL's official chef.

PACK CONCEPT by SET - New! - For the first time this year, in partnership with the Université de Montreal and UQAM, SET Canada will be organizing a special event dedicated to the food-packaging sector. The students' creations in packaging design, each more innovative, futuristic and green than the next, will be on display at the show.
