MEDIA ADVISORY: Long-Term Care Task Force on Resident Care and Safety releasing report to address abuse and neglect in long-term care homes on Wednesday, May 16, at 11:00 a.m.
TORONTO, May 14, 2012 /CNW/ - On Wednesday, May 16, the Long-Term Care Task Force on Resident Care and Safety, established to address incidents of abuse and neglect in long-term care homes as well as the potential underreporting of these incidents, will be formally releasing its action plan for the long-term care sector.
Dr. Gail Donner, Chair of the task force, will provide an overview of its Action Plan to Address Abuse and Neglect in Long-Term Care Homes. Dr. Donner will be joined by task force members representing nurses, physicians, unions, personal support workers, family and resident councils, long-term care provider associations and advocates. The Chair and task force members will be available to address media inquiries about the task force and its report.

The task force was established by members of the long-term care sector to identify actions to prevent incidents of abuse or neglect that are within the control of the sector as well as actions that require assistance from government and/or other organisations to execute.
