What role do downtowns play in the life of a city?
How does strong leadership contribute to the success of a downtown?
These and other questions will be answered at the launch of "The Value of Investing in Downtowns", a national research study of Canadian downtowns conducted by the Canadian Urban Institute.
The study, commissioned by the Canadian Issues Task Force of the International Downtown Association, examined the downtowns of Halifax, Fredericton, Ottawa, Toronto, London, Winnipeg, Saskatoon, Edmonton, Vancouver and Victoria to measure the performance of Canadian downtowns.
