SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QC, May 17, 2012 /CNW Telbec/ - Today's young international superstars, the British band The Wanted and the Canadian singer Carly Rae Jepsen will perform on the Loto-Québec Stage on Friday, August 17, 2012.
Exclusively in Quebec, after being seen nearly 30 million times on YouTube and selling 400,000 copies of their debut album, the "boy band" superstars will perform their mega hits including Glad You Came, Warzone and Chasing the Sun, all three from their last album, Battleground, already at the top of charts. Carly Rae Jepsen will seduce festival goers with her mega hit Call Me Maybe. They will certainly bring the party of the summer and transform the International Balloon Festival into a giant dance floor!
The Wanted
Founded in 2009, the British band The Wanted quickly won over millions of fans in the UK, Europe and now in North America where they bring their tour. The five members of The Wanted, Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes bring a fresh take to the "boy band" genre, with their irresistible success.
Carly Rae Jepsen
Originally from Mission, BC, 26-year old singer-songwriter Carly Rae Jepsen was first noticed during Canadian Idol in 2007. She then exploded onto the Canadian scene with her hits Tug of War and Bucket. In 2012, her second album, Curiosity, has her moving into the top 10 on the international charts with the song Call Me Maybe.
The International Balloon Festival of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, presented by Laurentian Bank in collaboration with Loto-Quebec, returns in full force with its 29th edition which will be held from August 11th to 19th, 2012.
