Media Advisory - Major Nigeria-Canada Investment Conference in Toronto May 2-4, 2013
TORONTO, May 1, 2013 /CNW/ - More than 450 delegates will be attending a major investment conference in Toronto beginning Thursday at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel. It is the largest trade delegation of its kind from one of Africa's leading economies. The aim is to expand on the Nigeria-Canada trade relationship that currently totals $3 billion annually.
Highlights of the conference include:
- Opening ceremony featuring International Trade Minister Ed Fast and the Republic of Nigeria's Vice President H.E. Arc. Namadi Sambo (Thursday 9-am, Canada Room)
- Roundtable on investment opportunities with 14 Nigerian Governors (Thursday 1-pm, Canada Room)
- Attendance by 14 Nigerian government ministers
- Participation of leading Canadian experts, including policy advisory Don McCuthchan, former Toronto mayor David Miller and representatives from Export Development Canada and Bombardier
