Europe Day Reception on May 16, 2013 organized by the European Union Chamber of Commerce in Toronto
TORONTO, May 14, 2013 /CNW/ - The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Toronto (Eucocit) is honoured to welcome the Honourable Ed Fast, Minister of International Trade and Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway as a speaker at Eucocit's annual Europe Day Reception. This exclusive evening event will take place on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Marriott Courtyard Toronto Downtown. Europe Day is an official celebration of peace and unity in Europe. It commemorates the anniversary of the Schuman Declaration in May 1950, which called for integrated European cooperation and created the beginnings of what is now the European Union.
Minister Ed Fast will open this year's Europe Day Reception with a speech about the importance of the Comprehensive and Economic Trade Agreement (CETA) between Canada and the European Union. Another special guest of honour Mr. Manfred Auster, Head of Political Section, Delegation of the European Union to Canada, will talk about the European and Canadian trade relations, from a European perspective.
The European Union Chamber of Commerce in Toronto is the umbrella organization comprised of 25 different European organizations - 20 European Union bilateral Chambers of Commerce and Business Associations and five associate members from other European countries. With its annual signature Europe Day Reception, Eucocit draws high-profile Canadian and European business people, government officials, press representatives and Consuls from various European countries.
