Media Advisory - Vancouver Foundation receives one of the largest personal bequests in BC history

VANCOUVER, May 22, 2013 /CNW/ - Vancouver Foundation, UBC and the United Church of Canada will co-host a media briefing to announce the receipt of a multi-million-dollar gift — one of the largest charitable donations in BC history:

	Dr. Will Guest, MD/PhD, UBC Faculty of Medicine
	Caroline Bonesky, CEO, Family Services of Greater Vancouver
What:	Announcement of one of the largest charitable donations in BC history
When:	Thursday, May 23, 2013, 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Where:	Directions Youth Services Centre
	900 Pacific Street (and Hornby) in Vancouver
	(former site of the Kettle of Fish Restaurant)

Representatives from Vancouver Foundation, UBC and the United Church of Canada will be available for interviews to discuss the source, and the amazing implications, of this gift.

With almost 1,500 funds, and assets of more than $814 million, Vancouver Foundation is Canada's largest community foundation. Since it was founded in 1943, Vancouver Foundation, in partnership with its donors, has distributed more than $917 million to thousands of community projects and programs.
