Media Advisory - Minister Lebel to hold media availability and teleconference from Leipzig, Germany Français
OTTAWA, May 22, 2013 /CNW/ - The Honourable Denis Lebel, Minister of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities, will host a media availability to share highlights from his participation in the International Transport Forum's 2013 Summit, Funding Transport.
Minister Lebel's participation in this event - the only international conference of its kind - includes:
- bilateral meetings with officials from China, Chile, India, Norway, Japan, Germany, and Tunisia;
- an open ministerial session on attracting private finance and ensuring predictable funding, during which the Minister will highlight the New Building Canada Plan and Canada's approach to public private partnerships (P3); and,
- a panel discussion on cross-border transportation issues at which Minister Lebel will showcase Canada's gateways, the Asia-Pacific Gateway and Corridor Initiative, the Gateway and Border Crossings Fund and related investments, the Canada-US Beyond the Border Action Plan, and the Detroit River International Crossing.
Minister Lebel is also using this occasion to meet with colleagues from other countries to promote Montreal as the best city in the world to continue to host the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
