Research at the Front Lines: Finding New Solutions in HIV Prevention, Treatment and Support

/CNW/ - The 11th annual research conference of the Ontario HIV Treatment Network will examine the factors that increase risk for individuals and communities most affected by HIV, as well as interventions that may improve the lives of people living with HIV and prevent the spread of the virus.
Research scientists, decision makers, service providers and people living with HIV will gather in

to explore a wide range of complex and sometimes contentious concerns including:
National pregnancy guidelines for people living with HIV
Criminalization of HIV/AIDS
Safe injection and inhalation sites
The conference will feature eleven keynote presentations from internationally renowned experts, including:
Charles B. Collins, Section Chief for Science Application, Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention at the CDC who has designed, implemented, and evaluated HIV interventions for African American drug users and young MSM of color
Jonathan Anderson
, Senior Research Fellow, Deakin University Health Economics,
Australia
and President of the Australasian Society for HIV Medicine, whose research focuses on cost-effectiveness of HIV prevention interventions
Robert Carr
