MEDIA ADVISORY - Joannie Rochette encourages Quebecers to help children
realize their dreams
The World Vision Gift Catalogue comes to you "live" in downtown Montreal
MONTREAL, Nov. 1 /CNW/ - World-class figure skater and Olympic medalist Joannie Rochette knows what it means to accomplish her dreams. However, on a trip to Peru with World Vision, Joannie met many children who faced obstacles to realizing their full potential. Today she explains how Quebecers can make a difference in the lives of children and families living in poverty by buying gifts through the World Vision Gift Catalogue.
You are invited to meet with Joannie as she presents many of the items available in the catalogue -- from mosquito nets, to school supplies, to live animals - and demonstrates how a simple gift can give a child the opportunity to dream.
You will also meet Margaux, a 9-year-old Montreal girl who realized her dream of doing something significant to change the world by raising 1200$ to buy a stable of animals for an impoverished village through the World Vision Gift Catalogue.
Participants will be able to "shop" the catalogue for themselves, courtesy of the all-new Giving Card.
