Purpose:
- To officially open and celebrate the opening of the third session of the TFN Legislature.
Background:
- The TFN Legislature represents the first urban First Nation Government in Canada.
- Situated adjacent to Delta, B.C., the TFN Government was established on April 3, 2009.
- As a new government in Canada, TFN is breaking new ground in developing laws, regulations, and legislation.
- Chief Commissioner Sophie Pierre, BC Deputy Speaker Linda Reid and Mayor Lois Jackson will also be addressing the Tsawwassen Legislature.
