TORONTO, Nov. 15 /CNW/ - CTV announced today an extensive, multi-platform effort in support of National Bullying Awareness Week (Nov. 14-20). In addition to special encore broadcasts of the original movie TAGGED: THE JONATHAN WOMBACK STORY on CTV and /A\ last weekend, highlights include CP24's live, one-hour Stephen LeDrew bullying special, LOVE IS LOUDER, on Wednesday, Nov. 17 and an evening of themed MTV programming on Friday, Nov. 19 featuring the original special, MTV PRESENTS IMPACT: BULLIED TO DEATH and an episode of IF YOU REALLY KNEW ME focusing on cyberbullying. And throughout the week, ETALK and CANADA AM will each feature special segments, exploring the issue.
Helping to make an impact across all CTV Inc. platforms in high rotation on every day of the National Bullying Awareness Week, CTV has joined the international Love is Louder campaign with special public service announcements featuring well-known TV personalities. Online, both loveislouder.CTV.ca and MTV.ca/Think will encourage others to join the Love is Louder movement with their own messages and videos. Loveislouder.CTV.ca will also feature Love is Louder messages from celebrities such as Drake, P!nk and Lights, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from the taping of the CTV public service announcement.
Aimed at amplifying awareness for this issue affecting children and teens, Love is Louder was built on the outpouring of support online after the lives of multiple teenagers were lost to suicide in September, 2010. This movement strives to amplify the momentum of other inspiring online campaigns to help raise the volume around a common critical message - that love and support are more powerful than hate and discrimination.
CTV will premiere the exclusive PSA featuring CTV personalities Marilyn Denis, Dan Levy and Jeanne Beker, who are lending their support, along with Tré Armstrong, Shawn Desman, Enrico Colantoni and DEGRASSI's Raymond Ablack and Jordan Todosey. Airing all throughout National Bullying Awareness Week across all CTV platforms, the goal of the PSA is to lend awareness to the Love is Louder message, directing those in need of help to Kids Help Phone, Canada's leading 24-hour phone and web, professional, anonymous and confidential youth counselling service.
