Newton Crossing Dental Is Hosting a Free Day of Dentistry with Dentistry From
The Heart
SURREY, BC, Nov. 18 /CNW/ - Dr. Harinder Dhanju is out to change lives by offering free smiles to anyone who needs dental work, as he hosts the latest event for Dentistry From The Heart (DFTH) on Dec. 4, 2010.
The media is invited to join, Dr. Dhanju and his team of dentists and volunteers to help 200 people in need of dental work - treating patients in need of fillings, extractions and cleanings. Over the past years, these doctors have helped many patients, but this event will be their first combined charity event.
Dentistry from the Heart is a national non-profit organization with a simple mission - making people smile. Founded in 2001 by a Dr. Vincent Monticciolo in New Port Richey, Florida, DFTH was created to aid those in need, including the growing population of under-insured Americans. Over 110 million North Americans alone lack dental insurance, and over 29 percent of adults have untreated cavities. Without events like DFTH, dental care simply isn't an option for many of the uninsured. To date, DFTH has helped more than 30,000 patients and provided over $5.5 million in dental care.
"Now more than ever, I know there's people out there that need my services, but have no means to afford them - whether they're out of a job, or just don't have dental insurance. Dentistry from the Heart is my way of giving back to the community, and helping people who are in need of dental work," said Dr. Dhanju. We are dedicating this event to the memory of Dr. Bud Sipko - a local dental mentor who would have been proud to participate in this charitable day.
The event will take place on Dec. 4 at Newton Crossing Dental at 7126 King George Hwy. Starting at 8:30 AM, Dr. Dhanju, Dr. Ed Lowe and many volunteers will treat the first 200 patients, or however many they can assist by 5:00 PM.
