Peter Mansbridge talks about connecting with Canadians
OTTAWA, Nov. 30 /CNW/ - Is it possible to bridge the gap between farming and non-farming Canadians? Peter Mansbridge, anchor of CBC's The National, will lend his perspective on how to connect with Canadians when he delivers the keynote address to attendees at the annual GrowCanada(R) conference tomorrow.
Mansbridge will explore the national mood through key social and political issues, while highlighting the accomplishments of Canadians here at home and abroad. From this, Canada's farming community can seek insights into how to connect with fellow Canadians and ensure agriculture's contributions to the country's well-being are not overlooked.
"Farmers take great pride in the work they do and their renowned ability to deliver safe and affordable food - not just to fellow Canadians, but to people all around the world," said Jim Wispinski, president and CEO of Dow AgroSciences Canada Inc., sponsor of the Mansbridge address. "Peter Mansbridge's insights into how we can better tell today's agriculture story to non-farming Canadians will be a great way to kick off this annual gathering of Canada's agricultural sector."
GrowCanada(R) is a partnership of agriculture's most influential associations that works together to ensure Canada is a world leader in providing new products and solutions for agricultural, nutritional, healthy, energy and environmental challenges in Canada and around the world. The annual GrowCanada(R) conference celebrates the role of agriculture in bettering the lives of Canadians.
Mansbridge will speak Wednesday, December 1 at 9:20 a.m. at the Westin Ottawa, 11 Colonel By Drive.
Media are invited to attend any part of the conference which is being held November 30 - December 2, 2010.
