Media Alert - "Harnessing wisdom across generations" focus of 2013 Canadian Conference on Physician Health

OTTAWA, Nov. 12, 2013 /CNW/ - Physicians from across the country will come together at the Hyatt Regency Calgary November 15-16 to share knowledge, insights and experience on issues related to physician health. The conference is hosted by the Canadian Physician Health Institute, a national program created by the Canadian Medical Association and the Canadian Medical Foundation, and is co-hosted by the Alberta Medical Association (AMA) and the AMA Physician and Family Support Program.

Remembering our past: a beacon for today and tomorrow
Although physicians have been the object of curiosity for centuries, the study of their health and vulnerabilities is much newer. Dr. Myers will review that history and will explain how it informs contemporary thinking and practice.

Addressing disruptive behaviour throughout the physician lifecycle
This session will focus on the role of physician leaders in establishing and communicating fair, consistent and safe processes. They will also explore keys to resolving distruptive behaviour.

Be it resolved that digital connectivity is a positive determinant of physician health
In this session panelists will illuminate the complex reality of digital media in our lives.
They will debate whether digital connectivity is a positive determinant of physician health.
