QUEBEC CITY, Nov. 12, 2013 /CNW Telbec/ - How can private security increase public safety? How is the private security industry involved in emergency situations like terrorist attacks, planned events like the Olympic Games or as part of a company's daily activities? Industry specialists will answer these questions from November 13th to 15th in Quebec City during the International Association of Security & Investigative Regulators (IASIR) annual conference hosted by the Bureau de la sécurité privée.
The conference will showcase local and international speakers discussing the latest developments in the private security industry with some recent case studies, such as the Vancouver Olympics and the Boston Marathon bombings.

IASIR's mission is to improve public safety by promoting the professionalism of the private security industry. The association encourages communication between regulatory authorities like Registrars/regulators from various states, Canadian provinces and other countries, executives from the private security, investigative, alarm and related industries, and representatives from law enforcement agencies. This conference is the largest annual event of the association.
About the Bureau de la sécurité privée
The Bureau de la sécurité privée is a Private Security Industry regulating entity created by the Private Security Act. It has as a primary mission to protect the public. The Bureau sees to the implementation of the Private Security Act, issues agent and agency licenses and deals with complaints received against license holders. Its Board of Directors is composed mostly of members appointed by private security associations representing the industry and recognized by the Ministry of Public Security.
