    Fraser Surrey Docks Again Surpassed the 30 Container Moves per Hour mark
    in the Month of September 2009
    

VANCOUVER , Oct. 6 /CNW/ - Fraser Surrey Docks, in Port Metro Vancouver , continues to raise the bar by achieving unprecedented monthly average productions on their container vessels in 2009. Building on a record setting monthly average in May 2009 of 31.2 container moves per hour (MPH) over all vessels, Fraser Surrey Docks achieved an average of 30.7 MPH over all vessels during the month of September 2009 .

Furthermore, Fraser Surrey Docks has steadily maintained their high container productivity over the past six months with production averaging 29.7 MPH over all vessels, from April to September 2009 . Over this same time period, 51% of the vessels recorded productions over 30 MPH with 10% of them surpassing 35 MPH.

Fraser Surrey Docks and the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU - Local 502 and 514) are continuing to aim high as they look to increase the overall amount of vessels that exceed the 35 MPH mark.

Fraser Surrey Docks is a modern multi-purpose marine terminal that has been serving the shipping industry since 1964 and is the largest facility of its kind on the west coast of North America .
