Travelocity.ca declares an end to booking fees on all flights

Summer No Fees promotion expanded to cover all flight-only bookings

TORONTO , Oct. 15 /CNW/ - With reports of the "green shoots" of economic recovery appearing in the news, consumers might expect to see the end of many of the special promotions and economic stimulus deals introduced during the summer. At Travelocity.ca, however, the end of summer does not mean the end of great deals and low price protection. Starting today, Travelocity.ca announced the end of service fees on all flight-only bookings made online.

In June 2009 , Travelocity.ca announced that the company would waive flight booking fees on many flights booked during the summer as part of a limited-time special promotion. There were some restrictions on the type of flights included in this promotion, but starting today, Travelocity.ca has eliminated all flight-only booking fees, for all customers and all flights, across the entire site.

"The economy may be recovering, but smart Canadians still want to look for the best possible deals without extra costs," said Brian Simpson , General Manager of Travelocity.ca. "We don't charge a fee on flight-plus-hotel packaged vacations at Travelocity.ca, and we know that the old service fee on flight-only bookings was unpopular, so it just makes sense to eliminate these fees right across our system."

As further protection for Canadian customers, Travelocity.ca continues to provide PriceGuardian(SM), a service that offers customers a refund if another consumer books the same "Create Your Own" vacation package for less on Travelocity.ca. PriceGuardian works by automatically monitoring pricing after a customer books their vacation. If another customer later books the exact same flight and hotel combination on Travelocity.ca at a lower total price, Travelocity.ca will automatically refund the difference to the customer, from $10 up to $500 .
