TORONTO , Oct. 16 /CNW/ - Monty Python founders John Cleese, Terry Gilliam , Eric Idle, Terry Jones , and Michael Palin reunited last night at New York's Ziegfeld Theatre for the world premiere of Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut), a 100 minute documentary that chronicles the story of the legendary comedy troupe. On Tuesday, October 27 Eagle Rock Entertainment will commemorate Monty Python's 40th anniversary with the release Monty Python: Almost The Truth (The Lawyer's Cut), a six-part docu-series available on 3DVD or 2Blu-ray sets that contains over 7 hours of classic material, recent candid interviews with members of the group and archival interview footage of the late Graham Chapman . Authorized by the members of Monty Python, this definitive collection also features commentary and musings by Dan Aykroyd, Tim Roth , Bruce Dickinson , Eddie Izzard , Steve Coogan and others.

Monty Python: Almost The Truth (The Lawyer's Cut) features a wealth of pre-Python material, footage from Monty Python's "Flying Circus" television series, their classic live performance from Hollywood Bowl, and the three Python films (Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Life Of Brian, and Monty Python's Meaning Of Life). There is also a plethora of bonus footage, including their classic sketches such as "Spanish Inquisition," "Ministry Of Silly Walks," and "The Lumberjack Song", extended interviews, and photo galleries.

Cineplex Entertainment and Eagle Rock Entertainment will present a one-night only showing of the 100 minute documentary version of Monty Python: Almost the Truth (The Lawyer's Cut), presented in High Definition (HD) and digital surround sound on Thursday, October 22 exclusively at select Cineplex Entertainment theatres across Canada .
