Toronto Public Library hosts public Centennial celebration October 2
TORONTO, Sept. 30 /CNW/ - Toronto Public Library's Riverdale Branch, Toronto's third oldest operating public library, will celebrate its 100-year anniversary with a free all-day party on Saturday, October 2, 2010. The event is open to the public and the festivities will include live music, a Chinese Lion Dance, a magician and jugglers, a historical walking tour and more. Library officials and community partners will officially toast the wonderful Carnegie, Georgian revival building at 12 noon.

1:00 pm: An outdoor juggler on stilts from Centre of Gravity. | |
2:00 pm: Family entertainment with local storyteller Sally Jaeger, a strolling magician and a Chinese Lion Dance by Northern Legs Southern Fists. Meet a local police officer on horseback and have your picture taken on a Toronto Fire Services fire truck. | |
