Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (CFHU) celebrate The
Honourable Jerry Grafstein at "An Evening of Movers and Shapers"
TORONTO, Oct 6 /CNW/ - On Monday, November 15, Canadian movers and shapers will gather at the Toronto Centre for the Arts as The Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (CFHU), host Steve Paikin (The Agenda with Steve Paikin), and comedy great Jackie Mason recognize one of Canada's leading public figures, The Honourable Jerry Grafstein.
Outspoken lawyer, influential Senator, media entrepreneur, academic, philanthropist and community leader - Grafstein's list of roles and accomplishments is endless, his commitment to promoting human rights, democracy, and tolerance in Canada and across the globe legendary. This event will launch two groundbreaking initiatives, The Honourable Jerry and Carole Grafstein Network for Cancer Research at the Institute for Medical Research Israel-Canada at The Hebrew University, and The Honourable Jerry and Carole Grafstein Distinguished Visiting Professor Program in Jewish Studies at the University of Toronto.
"It is a great honour to be recognized by my community and to create something new that will affect so many lives," said Grafstein. "I share the values of academic excellence, promotion of the Jewish people and Israel, and the expansion of knowledge without limits or borders. This evening represents those passions coming together in a way that I believe will change the future."
Of course, Grafstein won't be the only legend in the house that night, as renowned comedian Jackie Mason will also be providing his own, ahem, "tribute" to the guest of honour. Guests will also enjoy an electrifying performance by popular string sensation Bowfire, a champagne dessert reception, and more.
