MONTREAL, Oct. 15 /CNW/ - Canadians are about to enjoy the fourth annual Caribbean Week -- a celebration of the sights, sounds, colours, culture and unique vacation experiences of the Caribbean. From October 21st to 29th, the Caribbean Tourism Organization (CTO) will give Canadians the opportunity to experience some of this diverse region's best chefs, cocktails, entertainment and music in Montreal and Toronto.
Montreal media are invited to an exclusive day, the first-ever Caribbean Media Marketplace and Caribbean Media Awards Luncheon on Thursday, October 21st at the Hotel Place d'Armes. This is a unique opportunity to experience the best of the Caribbean without having to step aboard a plane!
WHAT: | Media Marketplace and the Caribbean Media Awards Luncheon are being held in Montreal for the first time Media Marketplace: Representatives from tourist boards, hotels, tour operators and airlines will be available to provide media with valuable Caribbean product and destination information, while they enjoy exotic Caribbean food and drinks. Participating countries include Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Grenada, Jamaica, Martinique, Puerto Rico, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Turks & Caicos and USVI. Caribbean Media Awards Luncheon: Ministers and senior government tourism representatives as well as award-winning media and leaders of the travel agency community, this luncheon serves to recognize Canadian-based consumer and trade media that have captured the essence of the Caribbean in their storytelling. Awards will be presented for the best French and best English media coverage of the Caribbean. Sponsored by Comité Martiniquais du Tourisme, the luncheon will feature the cuisine of Martinique-trained Chef Marcel Anglio. Chef Anglio is the chef at Le Piton de la Fournaise in Montréal. Award winning pianist Ronald Tulle will be entertaining guests with the sounds of Martinique. |
