MONTREAL, Oct. 18 /CNW/ - According to the Conference Board report Immigrants as Innovators: Boosting Canada's Global Competitiveness, immigrants can help boost Canada's innovation performance. However, they face many obstacles that limit their ability to contribute in the labour market.
The Conference Board of Canada, in partnership with the Alliance of Sector Councils (TASC), will host a workshop in Montreal aimed at:
- Increasing awareness amongst Canadian employers of the advantages of hiring internationally trained individuals, and
- Providing practical tools and resources to assist employers, particularly small and medium-sized businesses, in hiring internationally trained workers.
