TORONTO, Oct. 26 /CNW/ - Changing demographics and recent economic challenges are increasing the financial pressures on benefits programs. Conference Board research shows that benefits costs are increasing by 10% each year, and make up an increasing percentage of the total cost of employment.

Benefits Summit 2010 will highlight findings from three Conference Board reports and best practices in benefits management.

Who:	Karla Thorpe, Associate Director, Compensation Research Centre, Governance and HR Management, The Conference Board of Canada, will present findings from the Conference Board's inaugural survey of employer-sponsored benefits, at 8:45 a.m.
	Marc D. Kealey, President, ArcisRx, will explain prescription drug changes in Ontario, the implications for employers, and the outlook for drug costs in Canada, at 11:15 a.m.
	Jean-Marc MacKenzie, Senior Vice-President, Health Management Shepell.fgi, Karla Thorpe, Associate Director, Compensation Research Centre, Governance and HR Management, The Conference Board of Canada, and Nicole Gonzalez, Management Associate, Disability, Standard Life, will discuss how organizations can better manage absenteeism in the workplace, at 2:00 p.m.
